AADA Portal Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 15th June 2026

Welcome to the African Actuarial Development Academy (AADA) Portal ("Portal"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Portal, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About the Portal

The AADA Portal is designed to support AADA programmes and activities, including mentorship programmes, tutorials and study cohorts, professional development activities, volunteer opportunities, events and webinars, community networking, and distribution of educational and career-related information. AADA may add, modify, or discontinue Portal features at any time.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account and provide information about yourself. You agree that information you provide is accurate and up to date, that you will maintain the security of your credentials, that you are responsible for activities conducted through your account, and that you will promptly update your profile if your information changes.

AADA reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false, misleading, or inappropriate information.

3. Programme Applications

Submission of an application through the Portal does not guarantee acceptance into any programme. AADA reserves the right to establish eligibility requirements, select participants based on programme needs and available capacity, modify programme structures, dates, or requirements, and withdraw or cancel programmes when necessary.

4. User Conduct

Users must engage respectfully and professionally when using the Portal and participating in AADA activities. Users must not harass, discriminate against, or intimidate others; provide false or misleading information; upload unlawful, offensive, or inappropriate content; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Portal or other users' information; or use the Portal for commercial solicitation or marketing without AADA's permission.

AADA may remove content or restrict access where it believes these standards have been violated.

5. Mentorship Relationships

The Portal may facilitate introductions between mentors, mentees, tutors, volunteers, and other participants. AADA does not guarantee the quality, suitability, or outcomes of any mentoring or tutoring relationship, is not responsible for advice, opinions, or guidance provided by participants, and encourages all users to exercise professional judgement and discretion. Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the user's own risk.

6. Intellectual Property

Materials made available through the Portal remain the property of AADA or their respective owners unless otherwise stated. Users may access such materials for personal educational and professional development purposes but may not reproduce, distribute, or commercialize them without permission. Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant AADA a non-exclusive right to use such content for programme administration, reporting, and promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed.

7. Privacy and Data Use

AADA collects and uses personal information to manage user accounts, administer programmes and applications, facilitate communication between participants, evaluate and improve AADA activities, and meet legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements. By using the Portal, you consent to the processing of your information for these purposes. AADA will take reasonable steps to protect personal information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Communications

By registering on the Portal, you agree that AADA may contact you regarding programme applications and participation, account administration, relevant educational and professional opportunities, and important updates relating to AADA activities. Users may opt out of non-essential communications where such options are provided.

9. Disclaimer

The Portal and its contents are provided on an "as is" basis. AADA makes no guarantees regarding availability or uninterrupted operation of the Portal, accuracy or completeness of information provided by users or third parties, or success in examinations, employment, mentorship outcomes, or career advancement resulting from participation in AADA programmes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AADA, its officers, volunteers, mentors, tutors, representatives, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the Portal or participation in AADA programmes.

11. Changes to These Terms

AADA may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Portal and will take effect upon publication. Continued use of the Portal constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.
